Rest Day.....PSYCHE!!!!

The folks over at CrossFit.com recommend a rest day today, so we're resting all day today........YEAH RIGHT?!?!

My question for you is this:  how on earth are you going to be the most intense fitness program in the history of the world if you DON'T WORK OUT!??!  Simple mathematics my friends, simple mathematics.  I think it's time for a little lesson in the world of CrossCulture.

Todays lesson consists of two simple formulas (taken from the official TCC textbook entitled "Triple Cross Culture and You:  A Guide to Absolute and Utter Physical Insanity" Vol. XII Iss. 9 Section XII.34.B, paragraph 112).

Formula 34.7)    ( ( i   l )  x  n + 1 ) -  100^r  =  f

where i=WIF (standard workout intensity factor, as presented in Section XXII.11.N, paragraphs 17-24), l=length of workouts (in seconds), n=number of workout days a week, r=number of rest days a week,  f=Total fitness quotient.

As you can clearly see, the total fitness quotient decreases exponentially as the number of rest days increases.  One day of laziness and the total fitness quotient drops by a factor of 100, which is inexcusable.  Two days of laziness in one week, and the quotient expires by a factor of 10000, ultimately eradicating the effects of any workout you've done in your entire life.

The second formula is as follows, and is a bit more complicated:

Formula 34.19)     INSANITY + INTENSITY + PERSEVERANCE = PERFECTION

Since this would take days in a classroom and years of real life experience to sufficiently explain, I will simply direct you to further reading on this subject in sections CXI-CLI of the official TCC textbook.

I hope you've learned something today, about resting, about working out, and about life in general.  We simply hope that you will get more fired up just by setting your eyes upon these words.

In closing, here is a couple pictures of how we spent our "rest day."

Incase you're unfamiliar with furniture-based workouts, you would greatly benefit from some extracurricular reading in one of my favorite works, "Sweet Mothers of Furniture Exercises:  Lifting Household Items All the Way To Total Fitness".  These exercises shown in these pictures are from Chapter 93, entitled "Ridiculously Large Desks and Ridiculously Narrow Staircases:  The Perfect Storm."

As we always say here at TCC, "ain't no time a good time to be a bump on a log".

Keep it real, and keep it crazy, we'll see ya at the Y.

Triple Cross Challenge: no snare too great

Hey there triple cross brethren!

In life, we are faced with numerous foes on all sides--encroaching darkness presses on every side, and yet we must rally the depths of our souls and valiantly soar over all obstacles that stand in our way!  Here at TCC, it is no different.  We come into contact with countless evil snares every day, purposed to discourage us, drive us off course and deter us from accomplishing the prize:  complete and utter intensity.  Some days these snares come in the form of wars, pestilences, famines, etc.  Yesterday it was a blizzard, today, it was an ineffective and pansy alarm.  Verily, we were thrown off course and forced to postpone the workout til a later hour.

BUT need i say again, NO SNARE IS TOO GREAT!!!

Check out how intense i was when i arrived later in the day at michael's in this video.  this is just a glimpse of how pumped we are all the time, and how dead set we are on achieving perfect fitness:

So in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, we persevered!  Made it to the gym a little late, but with plenty of time to completely dominate a full workout of insanity, as follows:

Phase 1: (CrossFit)

3 sets of:

Run 400meters (1/4 mile)
15 pull ups
50 squats
15 pull ups

time 25:42.3

Phase 2: (TCC Original)

forward and reverse forearm twister-upper

___________

Phase 1 of todays work out pretty much knocked us out, so we didn't do much else.  But phase 1 was enough.  holy moly.  well thanks for keepin up with us and hope to see yall soon ON THE WORKOUT FLOOR BROTHA!

ps.  the ineffective alarm has been utterly obliterated from existence and replaced with a much more intense alarm.  consider this snare conquered!

First workout- braving a blizzard

Little did I know, the first documented TCC workout would begin with an unforeseen challenge:  braving a violent, raging blizzard.  I stepped outdoors this morning to convene with michael at the Y, only to be met with this:

I know, I know most would abandon the pursuit of complete fitness in the face of such extreme adversity, but here at the TCC, we know nothing of surrender.  So after braving the blizzard, we made it to the Y.  Here's the summary of our workout:

Phase 1 (CrossFit):

10 sets of 2 deadlifts, 60 seconds rest between each set
finished in 16:12:8

As a side note, our deadlifts were done at 140lb, which almost matched the minimum weight shown on crossfit's website.  We have a long way to go, but our faces are set like flint!

Phase 2 (TCC original):

3 sets of 8 pull ups, 12 dips, 15 back extensions with extra 25lb weight (video below)

Phase 3:

2 sets of 15 inverted sit ups while doing twists/tosses with 10lb medicine ball

Phase 4:

50lb bar curls, starting at 11 reps, counting down one rep each set, alternating between the two of us each set

As usual, today as we worked out, we drew a bit of a crowd simply because of how intense we are.  Here's a short clip of the attention we got while we were working out today.

So, that's that.  If you like what you see, come with us tomorrow!  Same time, same place, booya!

The triple cross challenge begins!

Well well well, welcome to the Triple Cross Challenge, the most X-TREME fitness plan in the ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!!!  Literally,  the ENTIRE WORLD.

Here at the TCC, we are passionate about three crosses:

CrossFit
CrossCountry
CrossTraining

We are so pumped about crossing things, that we just wanna share it with the world.

We will be doing lots of workouts EVERY DAY (with a few rest days scattered along the way).  For now, we are doing CrossFit (www.crossfit.com), a really intense online workout program.  Soon we may be doing some more focused CrossCountry/CrossTraining, but either way, we're gonna be crossing barriers, crossing cultural boundaries, crossing every challenge, crossing ALL SORTS OF VARIOUS ITEMS!!!

And while we are super pumped about those crosses, we gotta give props to the cross above every cross, the cross of JESUS!  There ain't nothing better, lifting weights, crossing lakes, running trails, braving blizzards, all for JESUS!

We will be posting summaries of our workouts along with our thoughts, pictures, and videos of our journey every day!!!  The point is to encourage you and us to go for more of Jesus and more of health and more of life!!!  So follow along in our physical, emotional, and spiritual quest for glory...and if you think you have what it takes, JOIN US!

Just a sample of a typical exercise to whet your appetite-- 20 ft. rope climb and pullups on rope bar.
